The “Plaiul Fagului” reservation is a state protected area with an area of 5642 ha with a great diversity of fauna, flora and landscape, located between the Corneşti (north), Rădenii Vechi (west) and Temeleuţi (south-east) villages, Ungheni district. Narrow peaks with deep valleys, steep slopes (consequences of landslides), springs with cold and crystalline water, create a perfect habitat for beech growth. They can reach a height of 40 m or more, with a stem diameter of over 100 cm. The average age of the forest is 73 years, some beeches are up to 150 years old.
The flora includes 909 species, and the fauna gathers 49 species of mammals, about 142 species of birds, reptiles, etc.
On the territory of the Reservation there is also an arranged tourist route, of low difficulty, with a length of approximately 2.3 km, which can be traversed in 2 hours.
